Final Fantasy VIII is a PC Games Turn Base, Role Playing Game (RPG) genre, free download and full version. Final Fantasy 8 is a wholly new story, following the adventures of Squall, a young military plebe. power-assisted by associate degree uncommon cluster of allies, Squall should agitate a desperate rival, a robust necromancer, and his strange dreams.Squall and Seifer duel during a coaching session outside the Balamb Garden academy, scarring one another within the method. For the users who mount the CDs, here's the solution:

Press Start and go to Run, type in regedit, drop down the following folders on the left side, hkey_local_machine, software, square soft inc, final fantasy viii then click on 1.00.

over to the right in the main box now, right click on datapath and select modify, change the drive letter to what ever CD drive your using followed by :, ie f: and it will work fine, and to the problem with a missing disk is solved.

Very Important Note :

If you can't find the value "Datapath" in "hkey_local_machine, software, square soft inc, final fantasy viii, 1.00", change "Datadrive" instead (in Windows Vista\Seven x32).

If it is Vista/Seven (x64), then instead of HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Square Soft, Inc\FINAL FANTASY VIII\1.00

Look in : HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Wow6432Node\Square Soft, Inc\FINAL FANTASY VIII\1.00

If you can't find this one too, you will have to BURN the discs to blank CDs. It will work fine even without using the launcher nor changing anything in the registry.

Note: For future notice.

Anything that is Vista/Seven 64bit (x64) after SOFTWARE add Wow6432Node between it and whatever else is there (in this case Square Soft, Inc).

One final word: If you are using Vista/7, always run the game as Administrator.

FFVIII Character Editor (Download)

With this tool, you can do a lot of things. You can get Squall's "Lion Heart" weapon from the begining and add or delete specific kinds of magic (Even the rare ones), modify every thing about any character (Strengh mod, Vitality mod, Magic mod, etc), you can edit your character's HP, Name, Exp, etc (Even if the character that you want to edit is a GF). The best way to know what you can to do is doing it and trying it by your self. The tool is very easy to use, all what you need to do is:

Run the tool (Run as Administrator in Vista/Seven).

Press "Open" and locate the "Save" folder, where the save file that you want to edit is (Default path is "C:\Program Files\Square Soft, Inc\FINAL FANTASY VIII\Save" slot1 or slot2).

Double click on the file "Open", and the edit panel will appear.

If you still getting the “Wrong disc” error, please read the NVidia FIX

If you have NVidia videocard you might end up getting stupid black boxes, here's the fix for that:

Download the Nvidia 1.2 Patch of FFVIII (Download)

Download Microsoft Visual C++ 2008 Redistributable Setup /(You will need it if u want to run ff8 launcher v.1.31) (Download)

Finally Download FF8 Launcher v.1.31 (Download)

How to use it:

Unrar the Nvidia patch into game directory (replace all of the files)

Install Microsoft Visual C++ 2008 Redistributable Setup

Unrar FF8 Launcher v.1.31 into a folder of your choice. (I put the files in the game directory) Note: the launcher files shouldn't be put in the game folder directly, but to any other folder even as a subdirectory of the game folder itself.

Run FF8_Launcher.exe (Run as Administrator), choose your resolution, activate 8-bit pallets texture fix and if you're using a widescreen, resolution also activate Stretch 4:3 Aspect Ratio.
